Susanna Brandin, alias Winter Took His Life, is Gothenburg's latest big promise in the singer/songwriter genre. Susanna's trademark is her light and soaring voice along with her fingerpicking guitar. The music is enhanced by her ingenious and heartfelt lyrics.
Susanna, born 1984 in Alingsås, Sweden, spent her first 18 years in a blue house surrounded by guitars and Evert Taube. After graduating from the music program at Alströmergymnasiet in 2003, she left her hometown for Boston. She spent a year in this fantastic city and was lucky enough to meet friends there that introduced her to Open Mics. Encouraged by and with a little help from these new-found friends she also recorded her first demo in Boston.
With the demo in hand and some of her stage fright conquered she started playing more and more gigs both in Sweden as well as abroad, including two US tours. In 2005 she recorded and released the EP 'The Cold Took His Life'. She sent the EP to music producer Julius Andersson at Dunkers Culture center in Helsingborg, Sweden, who loved what he heard and signed her to his new label Bless The Press Records.
The debut album 'You Know What It's Like To Be Alone And Shut Down' is out now. |

Caught up in creaking tales of longing and mortality, Foreign Slippers (aka Gabi Frödén) makes music of unnerving quality. Hailing from Norrkoping, her captivating debut EP 'Oh Death' is absorbing and effortless in it's warmth. Stories of love, death, and bad dreams rest as uneasy bed fellows here.
Touring and gigging with the likes of Beth Rowley, Iain Archer and label mate Burning Codes has developed Foreign Slippers into a compelling must see act. As charming and charismatic live as the music on her debut EP suggests, Gabi Frödén ushers you into a world of pump organs, music boxes and blackbirds, from which you will be unwilling to return. |

Is Testbild! really pop music? The answer is Yes, if you want it to be. But Testbild! is also an abstract idea that is everywhere around you. A strange conspiracy of thoughts and musical beliefs, always dedicated to hummable tunes, otherworldly sounds and song writing. You are always welcome to join us, if you think you can see trough the web of lies and hypocrisy of commercial music. Because, and this is important, ANYONE can be a member of Testbild!. And anyone IS.
You know that guy with the glasses sitting in the corner of your local café, staring at you all the time? Most certainly a Testbild! member. The old lady selling apples at the market square, always humming on a strange tune? Testbild! member. The little girl in a school uniform standing on a balcony, looking up in the sky? OK, now you get it. Once again: we’re all around you. You can see us if you choose to believe it. Keep watching the horizon. /Sir Joshua Whitepaper the3d, Testbild! Management |

The Social Services are two thirds Glaswegian and one third Swedish, so that explains their combined love of nature and cholesterol. Their nomadic lifestyle and frustration with the world around them inspire them to write songs about war, death, consumerism, being an immigrant, storage solutions, potatoes and swimming. They rant without being shouty and they love it when everybody joins in on the sing-a-long choruses.
The Social Services' debut album was recorded in Sweden in the Spring of 2008, with Gustaf Spetz (Eskju Divine) at the controls.
"Cute, not cloying, more bittersweet than sweet and overall, incredibly charming." - It's A Trap! |

The Medalist has released a single on Cloudberry Records in 2007 and a self-titled EP in 2008. 'No one knows' is the first finished track off a forthcoming and so far unnamed Medalist EP, due later this spring. |

Dear Euphoria goes against the grain with their at times experimental and unpolished music. With courage they move between alternative poptunes, athmospheric indie-hymns and avant-gard. Every piece lives its own little life. In the end it is the melancholistic soaring melodies and characteristic frail voice of Elina Johansson that ties it all together. Like a beautiful red thread running through the stilistic schizophrenia which one willingly follows.
The new album 'Heal my Violence' will be released on March 25th.

Norma was formed in 2005 in Stockholm, Sweden. After just six months they split up due to a dispute. Another six months later they decided to try again, and soon found themselves creating various noises in a musty shelter a couple of floors below street level in central Stockholm. As the instruments started to rust, the music also became more primitive, groove-based and monotonous. This led up to the recording of the EP '1', which was released on the label Novoton in May 2007.
After setting up an art exhibition to accompany the EP, they headed to a small cabin in the woods north of Stockholm with a car full of instruments and cheap German box-wine. The first step towards the making of their debut album. A process that took little more then a year, and was more difficult then they had ever expected. 'Book of Norma' was released in November. |

Alarma Man is Andreas Litfeldt, Calle Fredrikson, Niklas Fors and Viktor Lager.
We love the sound of dueling guitars, the baby fat of a distorted bass and the flogging of a dead drumset! We love the brazen young men letting their vocals sip through, creating lush harmonies. Sharing the experimental context of Television, Yeasayer, Fugazi and Black Dice, this is a sonic slide show executed with love. We adore LOVE FOREVER! |
