Park Hotell is Christian Ramirez, Jonas Teglund, Petter Granberg, Johanna E Berhan, Miriam E Berhan, Jari Haapalainen and Mikael Yvesand.

Their album 'FREE FOR FRIENDS' is out now. Jari Haapalainen (Ed Harcourt, Concretes, Camera Obscura) produced and played the drums, and the twin sisters Johanna and Miriam E. Berhan from Taxi Taxi! sang the backing-vocals.

The output is a record with guitars that recalls Kevin Shields in a tempo stolen from The Wedding Present.

When cruising along the roads of Europe, once in a while you drive by heavily loaded trucks. Perhaps a smaller ship in the cargo is transported towards open waters. These trucks are marked with the words "Convoi Exceptionnel". Universal words with multi-dimensional meanings and connotations. Big words telling us about a heavy and valuable load.

Convoj's history is similar to the history of those ships. In the beginning it all went so fast, perhaps a bit too fast; we were heavily hyped on the internet, dropped an EP and got to open for bigger acts while we were polishing the final edges of our debut album. Eventually the album was done but nobody would release it. Those who would could not afford it. The music business was in a crisis and no one could invest in us. We separated from our manager. And now we stood there, all alone with a newly pressed recording and a debt to the recording studio.

We weren't only stuck in the slowest lane, the Autobahn was now, it seemed, closed for our "Convoi Exceptionnel", and we were forced to take alternative and more bumpy roads. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained and if you have built a boat, you have to let it sail. It is as simple as that. We gave our everything, we did not give up.

Swedish four-piece Audrey formed in 2002 and started performing gigs in April of the same year. Moving forward a year or so, Audrey began to develop their sound. The embryo of their dark, suggestive pop took its first form in a run-down music house in the archipelago of Gothenburg. Describing Audrey's music is no easy task. If the group has succeeded in finding a central theme, it's a balance in the melodies - shimmering, beautiful moments of pop meet dark sadness.

The harmonies (everyone in the group shares vocal efforts) shift quickly between keys and moods. Straightforward, conventional narrative is replaced by abstract meanings which strengthen the melodies. "I like it when the lyrics can mean different things, that we give clues to our audience. Sometimes we can write quite incoherent things, but we are looking for a feeling in the music", says Victoria."

Band in Box is Siri af Burén, a clarinet, two guitars, a ukulele, a piano, a melodica, some glockenspiel, a blue egg, a tambourine, a flute, a trumpet, a violin, a chinese miniature piano and a toolbox.

Based in Malmö, Band in Box was started by two friends, Siri af Burén and Elin Alvehag. It began as a playful project, based on the idea of bright pop melodies, teenage lyrics and a dash of irony. When Elin left the band, Siri decided to take the project to a new level, with a new box of tools.

The debut album 'This fiction' was released in 2008 and was well received by reviewers and fans. Sonic Magazine rated the album 9 out of 10, Expressen 4 out of 5, as did Digfi. Band in Box is currently working on a new album.

"My name doesn't mean anything. Perhaps I just wanted to defuse my music with an ugly and childish name. I don't know. But in some way I guess it reflects my person and the way I subconsciously think of my own music. I mean ugly, stupid, raw, immature, ironic, humorous but at the same time very beautiful, honest, fragile, solemn and above all warm hearted. For me it was clear that I didn't want to go by my real name, as many other females artist do. I find that boring and very impersonal. I just grabbed something. Hajen means the shark in Swedish. Sharks are great animals.

My references are mainly from Bob Dylan and Chan Marshall, and then everything behind them. I guess my music is, as everybody else's, a genuine mixture of all music I ever consumed. I see no real reason to define it other than emotionally. It's hard to be revolutionary these days. It is what it is." (Text from Swedesplease.net)

Lowood's soundscapes are sometimes desolate and sparce, sometimes as impalpable and intangible as air, but occasionally burst with the force of conviction that resembles the electric legacy of pop's eternals. Part Joy Division, part Red House Painters, part Low, part Stina Nordenstam, ‘Close To Violence' is obviously a work by lovers of music of intense emotional charge. But Lowood's musical language is in the true sense of the word their own.

Therese Johanssons personal songwriting, sense of melody and unparalleled voice appears to have been made for the sort of introspective pop music and expression that has become a necessity in her life. Therese and Kicki effortlessly complete each other, and with Therese's crisp guitar adorned by Kicki's lush keyboard melodies, this album is a masterwork of ethereal but jagged beauty.

we are soldiers we have guns is Gothenburg resident Malin Dahlberg, with help from an assortment of musical friends. 'get up, get out,' is their debut album.

"At first we are soldiers we have guns was a result of me, Malin Dahlberg, finding a Stratocaster copy without strings at my ex-boyfriends place and buying a portable recorder to record it with. And of course a lot of blood sweat and tears. Mostly tears though. It still is, but now I use a studio and get lots of help from friends. Anyway, listen don't read. Spin on THAT, Frank."

Recorded in her native Gothenburg, 'get up, get out,' draws on themes of: power, TV, silence and goldfish, as well as a range of more personal experiences.

In Malin's words, "This album is what prevented me from becoming bitter, grumpy and old in advance. If it wasn't for this record, I'd be living as a carton of sour milk that no one has the energy to get rid of, because the smell has stuck to the refrigerator walls anyway.

I wrote songs for myself. Strong songs for the weak me. Desperate songs for my disillusioned self and angry songs for the angry me. Myself, Uffe and a lot of friends recorded the album, which was mostly really fun."

Two White Horses formed when brother and sister Jakob and Lovisa Nyström were sat at home in Umeå and realised they had melodies to express and things to say. Together. They rummaged through their wardrobe for shinining white clothing and dressed in these began to create melodramatic popsongs.

Usually, Jakob is the singer and songwriter in Isolation Years and Lovisa sings backing vocals with artists such as Frida Hyvönen and David Sandström Overdrive. During 2008, both have been a part of Annika Norlin's Säkert! and toured throughout the country.

The band's debut full-length album is released on Sahara Hotnights' own label Stand By Your Band. It is a beautiful and peculiar piece, produced by Marcus Holmberg from Komeda.
